Safeguarding
At St Michael’s Catholic Primary School, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to ensuring that every child in our care feels safe, valued, listened to, and protected. Keeping children safe is everyone’s responsibility, and we work closely with parents, carers, governors, and external agencies to maintain the highest standards of safeguarding practice.
Our Commitment to Safeguarding
We are fully committed to:
- Providing a safe and nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive.
- Ensuring all staff recognise their legal and moral duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of all pupils.
- Following current statutory guidance, including
Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE),
Working Together to Safeguard Children, and
Local Authority safeguarding procedures. - Maintaining a culture where children feel confident to speak to a trusted adult if they are worried or need help.

At St Michael’s, we have a dedicated safeguarding team who are trained to respond to concerns, provide support, and ensure effective safeguarding throughout the school.

We Are a Telling School
Children are encouraged to speak out if something worries them. We want every child to know:
“If something doesn’t feel right… tell someone you trust.”
We work hard to create an environment where pupils feel confident, supported, and empowered to share concerns.
Working Together
Safeguarding is strongest when we work together. We value the partnership between home, school, parish and community, and thank all parents and carers for their continuous support in keeping our children safe.
