Our Parish

St Michael the Archangel Catholic Church

St Michael’s Catholic Primary School is proud to be part of the parish of St Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, our local Roman Catholic church here in Chatham. The parish is located just next door to the school on Hill’s Terrace and has been at the heart of the Catholic community in Medway for many generations. Originally built in 1862–1863 in the Romanesque Revival style, St Michael’s was the first Catholic church in the area and continues to serve as an active, welcoming parish for families today.

The church remains a vibrant centre of worship, prayer and community life. Parish updates, newsletters and events are regularly shared on the parish website and through noticeboards at the church. Families are warmly welcomed to attend Mass and take part in parish life, and our school maintains a strong partnership with the parish to support the spiritual development of every child.

Our pupils visit St Michael the Archangel Church throughout the year for school Masses, liturgical celebrations and opportunities for prayer. This close relationship helps children grow in faith, understand the importance of Catholic community, and experience the richness of parish life.
